About YEAH

What is YEAH?

YEAH is an independent, theme-based, quarterly magazine. YEAH was established to be an avenue for creative students and young people to promote themselves and get their work seen, we are here to support emerging talent.

The first issue, YM001, was released on February 15th 2009. The feedback we received for YM001 was incredible, and has allowed us to improve significantly for the second Issue. The magazine consists of donated work from contributors. We simply tell them the next theme, and encourage them to submit work to this theme. We feel this gives our contributors the freedom to interpret the theme however they want to, we are constantly looking for new contributors, particularly writers, photographers, illustrators, designers etc, however we like to think that anyone can contribute, no matter what their skill.

Who are we and why do we do it?

At the moment, YEAH magazine is managed and run by two people; Ben Errey and Laura Stevenson. Both editors work within student environments, Ben as a Lecturer at Alton College, and Laura as a student at the University of Portsmouth. We believe that YEAH has several unique selling points, which make it stand out from the competition. The content is driven purely by our contributors, who are currently donating work to us; this is allowing us to refrain from being tied down by a specific style or genre. The magazine also provides an accessible means for students and young people to get their own work published and seen. We are both dedicated to this project, and totally believe that YEAH is here to help you. We have agreed that for the time being, we are not in this for any kind of personal financial gain. Both editors work totally for free, and fund the magazine themselves. We hope that the magazine will become profitable, at which point, all profits will go back into the business, to help us improve further. If you are interested in contributing, or helping us out in any way, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
